Dear Backers,
First of all, we accept all of your criticism for the multiple product delays and inconsistent communication. We’ve apologized before and we’re genuinely sorry now. We agree, that’s no way to treat loyal backers (especially all of you who have stuck with us for so long) and we will strive to do better, and get better.
As much as ever, WE ARESTILL COMMITTED TO DELIVERING YOUR HELMET!
As we’ve continued on our path towards full production and shipping, backers have asked for product photos and videos. Over the past few updates, we have posted several photos along with the latest unboxing video. However, there is a small group of backers who continue to send numerous (and multiple) common complaints about product changes, product deficiencies and this small group of backers continue to offer their opinions on various product elements. The complaints range from helmet size changes (comparing the original video vs. this week’s video), the use of triangles vs. rectangles in the core helmet design, the method and degree of helmet foldability, the safety material we are using, the cap brim, the strap, the magnetic buckle, the case, the logo and a few other elements. We will do our best to respond to all thoughtful questions and comments, but also allow this update to serve as a response to these speculative and erroneous product comments.
The use of Rectangles vs. Triangles in our core helmet is only a slight nuanced design change. We made this change after creating numerous prototypes and sample helmets and learned rectangles fold as well as triangles, but the old triangle design formed an uneven (i.e. lumpier and slightly pointed) helmet surface and it became very clear the current “rectangle design” gives the core helmet a more rounded appearance, which also makes attaching the skin (cap) easier and more natural.
Size and Foldability
The final product you receive will be approximately 7mm wider (less than half the width of your index finger) than the prototype helmet in the original video. We have mentioned this in previous updates and our helmet will be the most compact foldable helmet on the market. Please ignore any comments to the contrary. You will see for yourself when you receive your helmet and it folds down to easily fit into a backpack, messenger bag, large handbag and carrying case. In addition, there is no foam or rubber in our helmet (like the other foldable helmets mentioned).
Carrying Case
We received numerous emails (from backers of all ages and genders and across many countries,) whose bikes don’t have water bottle holders, and they wanted their carrying case to be more multifunctional than just a round tube attached to a bike. We listened to the multitude of those backers and changed the carrying case so many more backers will enjoy it. We will never make everyone happy with all product decisions, but please don’t accept the vocal few making public comments as the majority view on this. Based on so many more email requests (which is what “crowdsourcing” is all about), we added removable loops on the carrying case so each backer can decide whether to attach it (or not) to their personal or rented commuter bike. And when a rider attaches the case to their bike, we made sure it would also serve as another safety device by putting reflective elements for our backer’s ultimate safety.
Fidlock magnetic buckle
We tested many many buckles and the Fidlock magnetic buckle (found on most premium bike helmets) was by far the most secure, most comfortable and safest buckle we tested. These buckles are typically found on helmets costing three times more than the P&D helmet.
Skin (CAP) brim
The brim length was slightly shortened and tilted a little upward for greater rider visibility and safety. The brim you will receive will not flap up. This is one minor example of the many small product issues we’ve addressed with our suppliers and have now resolved.
Competitor’s folding helmets
We have read backer comments about competitor’s folding helmets. Each backer is entitled to their opinion, but the P&D helmet will be the most compact folding helmet on the market and we are confident you will agree. The competitive helmets referenced in the backer’s comments all use less expensive and bulkier materials (e.g. EPS foam).
Final thoughts
Nearly every design tweak was made first, for your greater safety, and next, for better product functionality and aesthetics. No changes were made arbitrarily or without considerable backer input.
Moving forward, and for the benefit of all backers, we will correct any backer’s misleading product-related opinions. In addition, we will delete any backer’s racist or profane comments.
As we said at the beginning of this update, we know we’ve dug a very big hole in product manufacturing deadlines and sporadic communication, and we accept your criticism and will try to do better. However, WE ASSURE YOU, the Park & Diamond helmet and carrying case you receive (and YOU WILL receive it!), will be VERY SAFE, portable and a much better overall product than when you backed us.
To ALL of our backers, we thank you for your continued great support and patience, and we will continue to work very hard to deliver your helmet.

Dear Backers,
At long last, here is the Park & Diamond Helmet unboxing video, featuring:
Shipping box (made from biodegradable cardboard to minimize waste)
Quick Start User Guide
User Manual
Removing and unfolding Helmet core from case (without skin)
Folding Helmet core (without skin)
How to properly place the skin (cap) on the helmet core
Easy removal of the Helmet’s inner liner (needed for sizing and comfort and easy removal for cleaning)
Reflective safety elements on Skin & Case. We’ve been listening to our backers and moved the Park & Diamond logos to the side and rear panel of the outer Skin (cap) which are now low-key and muted during bright daytime hours and become Reflective Safety Elements to pick-up oncoming lights for your ultimate riding safety.
Premium Fidlock Strap demonstration for fastening/unfastening ease (with a very strong and safe magnetic connection). Our magnetic Strap fastener is ideal for rider comfort because it won’t pinch under your chin (like the more common plastic strap fasteners).
Premium Carrying Case with removable loop holders for easy attachment to rider’s handlebars, or other areas of your bike, backpack, messenger bag or handbag. Your Helmet Carrying Case also features Reflective Safety Elements to pick-up oncoming lights for ideal rider safety.
We wanted to get this video out to our Backers today and will follow-up with additional factory and Helmet photos.
Thanks again for your patience as we make the safest and most attractive folding helmet for all of you.

Hi Backers,
Yes, The Park & Diamond helmet does exist and still in the final stages of production. We’re finalizing packaging, user manuals (in seven languages), testing requirements across multiple countries/regions (ALL preliminary tests have easily passed) and shipping logistics.
We will begin shipping helmets shortly and another update will be sent later this week to show photos and videos of our helmet.
We know this won’t make most (or any) of you happy, but that’s the current situation and we will show you the helmet later this week. We really appreciate so many of our highly supportive backers who have been very patient and continue to send us encouraging words of support -- we will deliver for all of you!
Thank you for your continued support!

Hi Backers,
There may have been some confusion in yesterday's Update regarding "updating your Backerkit Survey".
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
If you need to access your Backerkit Survey to complete your helmet order information, to confirm your order details or update your shipping address, please go to this Backerkit link:
By accessing this link, you will be able to do all of this much quicker and easier, than sending this request to our customer experience email. At this time, you will NOT be able to change your helmet order size and color (there may be an opportunity to change your size/color before your order gets a final lock in our system).
When you became an Indiegogo Backer, you should have received a Backerkit survey to select your helmet size, helmet skin cap color and to confirm your shipping address (you must enter a proper street address, P.O. Boxes are NOT allowed). You MUST use the same email for your Backerkit Survey that you used for your Indiegogo order.
Please double-check your email and junk folder for the Backerkit email to make sure you received it and responded when you ordered your helmet. If you did not receive a Backerkit Survey email, then you may have entered an incorrect email (which means, your Backerkit email does not match your Indiegogo order email) or your credit card payment was rejected.
NOTE: We currently have nearly 1,000 Backers who have entered incorrect emails and/or incorrect or invalid credit card information.
Finally, the BEST way to have your personal order questions answered is to send them to: [email protected]. PleaseDO NOT post your personal order questions and requests in the Indiegogo comments, as this is not the best way to get your personal order issue properly addressed and resolved.
Once again...
If you need to access your Backerkit Survey to complete your helmet order information, to confirm your order details or update your shipping address, please go to this Backerkit link:
At this time, you will NOT be able to change your helmet order size and color.
More Updates still to come as we have specific Backer shipping info.
Thank you!

Hello Backers,
As we mentioned in our last Update, we will provide more information today on the first helmet shipments. We have determined the first helmets shipped will be to: U.S.-based Backers who ordered Medium/Black helmets (this represents the largest order group). By the end of this week, we will send another Update with more specific Indiegogo Order ID information for this first helmet shipment.
NOTE: Before we lock-in your order, you can still change your shipping address (your helmet must be shipped to a proper street address) and change your helmet size/color, but changing either (at this late date) to Medium/Black will not get you into this first shipping wave.
We also ask all Backers to double-check your Backerkit survey to make sure you have the correct address and order information locked in, as we will be doing a final order lock-in very soon. Please go to: www.Backerkit.com and log into your account to confirm your correct address in Backerkit.
Once we begin shipping to this first group, we will provide regular Updates with Order ID information for each subsequent shipping group’s size/color/geographic region.
Thank you again for your continued patience and great support — WE WILL DELIVER FOR YOU!
